It all started with a Skype call from Bali and that’s when I knew we needed to photograph this wedding! Kevin and Louise proved to us that miles don’t mean a thing when you’re in love! These two are from opposite ends of the country and have traveled the world together but still managed to plan a fabulous wedding at Broussard’s Restaurant with the help of Evermore Weddings! While they are residents of Hong Kong, they keep in touch with their family and friends across the United States. We had the pleasure of spending the entire day with them all across New Orleans! Our day started at the Roosevelt Hotel where we were introduced to the most welcoming bridal party EVER! They seriously treated us like we had known them for years! Louise’s fabulous Tara Keely wedding gown glowed in the February sunlight as it hung from the bridal suite windows. Also, Drew isn’t really smoking a cigar, but we all agreed he looked way cooler than when the groomsmen did it! And let’s be honest…it’s not like Brandon can get makeup pictures of the guys so he usually gives me something along these lines and I’m not complaining LOL
We don’t often see blush colors in the winter months, but when we saw the Cherry Blossoms outside of the St. Charles Presbyterian Church, I knew it couldn’t get any more perfect!! This day was seriously gorgeous, from the weather to so many well dressed guests despite their jet lag and long travel times! They had no idea what they were in for after the ceremony though! We started a classic New Orleans tradition in Jackson Square: A SECOND LINE!! For those of you who don’t know about this one…you don’t really feel it until you’re there. New Orleans has a special kind of spirit and for those who decide to tie the knot here, you’ll definitely be a celebrity for the night! We expected onlookers, but this bride and groom were completely surprised to see so many other tourists in the Quarter join in on the fun. Some videoed, took pictures, cheered us on while the Knockaz Brass Band played some Mardi Gras mambo, while others followed along with us until the end! Our party continued all the way up to Broussard’s Restaurant in the heart of the city where a beautifully decorated reception waited for us at sunset! Candle lit tables and The After 8 band created the perfect setting for a night of romance. These two danced the night away and it’s safe to say New Orleans will always have a special place in their hearts!
