Ah New Orleans, full of culture and diversity…home of the beignet and jazz! Living in this area comes with its ups and downs, but being photographers in this city is easy when it looks this cool! One of our favorite spots to take photos at is New Orleans City Park! It is massive, sure. But what we really take advantage of is the fact that you don’t have to walk too far within the park to get some great photos! And most of the park is free to enter!
If you park at Cafe du Monde, you could go over the gorgeous stone bridge overlooking the um…bayou? Lake? River-type body of water? Ha! It’s full of ducks and turtles and when the sun sets it sure is gorgeous! Once you cross that, you’ll find yourself amongst acres and acres of beautiful live oak trees and Spanish moss. They are HUGE!! New Orleans City Park is so unique! Just see for yourself.
Directly in front of Cafe du Monde in City Park is a band stand where there is always something fun going on throughout the week! Sometimes we’re lucky enough to be able to take pictures near it without interrupting a pilates class, a crawfish boil, or a concert!
And now for my favorite part of the park! The New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA)! Crisp white, gorgeous architecture, and just overall serene. You do need a permit to shoot at this area of the park but it is SO WORTH IT!! Our couples just glow here!
We especially love when our couples wear white for at least one of their outfits because it highlights their skin tones well. No one ever looks bad in white, I promise!!! Check out this other little white dress we love!
There are so many other places in City Park to shoot in and I’ll share more on that later!! For now, click HERE to check out NOMA!
